Day 1: Delhi - Haridwar [240 km].

Departure for Haridwar, “the door for the gods” This city is one of the seven holy cities.Visite of the temples of Mansa Devi and Chandi Devi. At not to miss: the “Aarti” of Gange is celebrated daily at7:00 PM. It is an incredible atmosphere; when the ceremonie is celebrate in all the temples of Haridwar at the same time. Hundreds of people take part in osmosis in the prayer. Transfer to the hotel.

 

Day 2: Haridwar - Deoprayag [135 km].

Route for Deoprayag. Located at 1500 meters of altitude, this village is on the confluence of the rivers Alaknanda and Bhagirathi. It is at this place, where water of these two affluents mixes, that the Ganges takes officially its name. Deoprayag thus became a place particularly venerated for the Hindus, and very attended by the ascetics who below live in the caves the shivaïque temple. Transfer to the hotel.

 

Day 3: Deoprayag - Rishikesh [115 km].

Route for Rishikesh, center of pilgrimage where come, each year, thousands of Hindus in order to bathe in water of Ganges.
The city shelters many centers of meditation and schools of yoga which attract quantity of foreign tourists. In the Sixties Beatles made a stay there to follow a training course of meditation transcendental under the direction of the Yogi “Maharishi Malesh”. Free visit of the city: Triveni Ghat, Lakshman Jhula: it is a suspended bridge which crosses Gange, Bharat Mandir: it is the oldest temple of Rishikesh. Possibility of excursion to the Nilkanth Mahadev Melac: this temple is located at 1675 m of altitude. The road offers a beautiful panorama. The temple is dedicated to Nilkanth (another name of Shiva). Transfer to the hotel. 

 

Day 4: Rishikesh - Delhi - Varanasi [125 km].

Route for Delhi, transfer to the airport and take-off for Varanasi. Reception and transfer to the hotel. Varanasi is oldest of the holy cities of the Hinduism, Benares is also a commercial and cultural city since highest Antiquity. No one cannot remain indifferent to the enthusiasm of the pilgrims who come per hundreds from thousands each year to request and purify, body and heart, in water of Ganges. The pilgrims immerse themselves in the river crowned while descending the staircases (ghats) built along the bank. Varanasi counts 1 inhabitant million, located on left bank of Gange, the city is directed in direction of the west towards banks of the large river. The “river crowned”, ghats, and the old city “Gali” with its many temples give to Varanasi its single atmosphere in the world. Transfer to the hotel.

 

Day 5: Varanasi  

Excursion, early morning, on the Ganges for the sunrise, then visit of the city.

 

Day 6: Varanasi - Gaya   [115 km].

Route for Gaya. Located on the river of Falga (Niranjana, as mentioned in Ramayana, it is a place sanctified by the Hindu and Buddhist religions. It is surrounded by small rock hills (Mangala-Gauri, Shringa-Sthan, RAM-Shila and Brahmayoni). Gaya derives its name from the mythological demon Gayasur (which wants to tell Gaya the saint demon literally). According to the legend, Vishnu killed Gayasur, the demon in L `crushing of its foot. This incident transformed Gayasur into series of rock hills which compose the landscape of the town of Gaya. Gaya was so holy that it had the power to free the sins from those which touched it or looked at it.

 Visit of the temples of Rowed Shila, Mangla Gauri, Shringa Sthan and Brahmayoni, of the tomb of Mangla. The most popular temple is the temple of Vishnupad today, marks print of step of Vishnu subjecting Gayasur, incised in a block of basalt. Transfer to the hotel.

 

Day 7: Gaya - Bhodgaya [10 km].

Route  for Bhodgaya. It is the place where Buddha received the awakening, 531 years front J. - C. It is one of the places of pilgrimage of the Buddhist, most important in the world. More than one archeological site, it is an important Buddhist hearth where million pilgrims comes to be collected. Visit temple Maha Bodhi which contains a gilded statue of Buddha. The crowned tree of Bhodi (banian) which with more than 3.000 years, under which Bouddha gained knowledge always exists. In the south, the Niranjana river in which Buddha bathed at the end of its penitence. Return on Gaya, night with the hotel.

 

Day 8: Bhodgaya - Allahabad [240 km].

Route  for Allahabad. Old city where water mingles of Ganges and the Yamuna river with Triveni Sangam. It is there that are held Magh Mela which takes place every four years between mid-January and mid-February and which lasts 15 days with 1 month. Every twelve years, also Maha Kumbh Mela takes place which attracts hundreds of thousands of pilgrims. Free visit of the city; the fort almost completely prohibited with the public, preserves a column of almost 11m engraved top of inscriptions of the Ashoka emperor. Allahabad was also the city of Nehru and their house became a preserving museum of the personal objects of Motilal Nehru, Jawaharial Nehru and of his/her daughter Indira Gandhi. Transfer to the hotel.

 

Day 9: Allahabad - Ayodhya - Luchnow [250 km].

Route for one of the seven Holy Cities of the Hinduism, Ayodhya. It is the birthplace of Rowed, the hero of Ramayana. In Atharvaveda one can read that “Ayodhya was built by the gods.”
Many sanctuaries of all the religions strew the city. Buddhism, the jainism and Islam thrived in Ayodhya at various times.
Unfortunately, in 1992, balance was broken by the fundamentalist Hindus who destroyed a mosque built on the supposed site of the birthplace of Rowed. This destruction caused a wave of violence in the country accompanied by terrorist attacks.
Ayodhya is always under high surveillance. Free visit of the city: Hindu sanctuary RAM Janam Bhumi, Hanuman Gadhi, temple dedicated to God Hanuman Monkey. Kanak Bhawan one of the most important temples of Ayodhya., the temple of Nageshwarnath, the ghat of Lakshmana, the well of Vashishtha Kund. Then, route for Lucknow. Transfer to the hotel

 

Day 10: Lucknow - Agra [365 km].

Route for Agra. Visit of the Red Fort and the Taj Baby. Transfer to the hotel 

Day 11: Agra - Mathura - Delhi [200 km].

Early morning, visit of the Taj Mahal. Route for Mathura, birthplace of Krishna God. Arrival in Delhi. Transfer to the hotel or to the airport.
